 How to do the 'stop motion' technique using Hypercam 2

Stop Motion is a video recording technique originally used in animation. In Runescape videos it is used to give the impression that a Runescape character is moving floating around without changing position. This tutorial will teach you how you can make your own Runescape stop motion video using the popular video recording software: Hypercam 2. If you are using a different video capturing software, then you should find it easy to apply the technique learnt in this guide to it.
The requirements to make a stop motion video on Runescape is a copy of Hypercam 2.
Step One: Open Hypercam, as shown below.
 Step Two: Select the 'Hot Keys' tab and check that your hot keys are the same as in the screenshot below. If they are not, then click the buttons to edit them.
 Step Three: Return to the 'Screen Area' tab and select the area that you want to record by clicking 'Select Region' and dragging your mouse accross the required area.
Step Four: This is where the stop motion action begins. You must first find a quiet area in Runescape without any other players of NPCs. You must also keep your game view (camera) still. Now you must choose the stance that you want your character to be in throughout the video. For example, you could choose to have your character in mid-spin. Press F3 to put your Hypercam on pause. Now get into the stance you have chosen (standing still is recommended for your first attempt).
Step Five: You must now press F3 twice in quick succession. Do this as quickly as you can. This will unpause the video for a split second, and then pause it again, leaving you with a recording of the first frame to be used in your video.
Step Six: Now move your character forward, keeping the camera in the same position and repeat Step Five. Keep doing this until you have all the frames that you want for your Runescape stop motion video! You can now import the video into your favourite editing program, and complete your Runescape video. ... No problem, but it was actually the owner who did that. But you are definatly the best stop motion maker. Tried making a vid like yours once, got 40 seconds done and gave up, takes so long! |
